“Sunny days in London” — 25 June at 20pm
Welcome to my hometown —

Enjoy a private tour with your own licensed guide born in London. With an expert insider you’ll experience the very best of this fascinating world city — all at your own pace.

I am a professional Blue Badge Tourist Guide, which means you can expect not only quality sightseeing, but also privileged access, skipping the long lines at many attractions. Maybe you’d like a highlight tour or an exclusive guided visit inside Westminster Abbey or the Tower of London? A world-class museum or a spot of shopping? Whatever you choose, you’ll see sights other visitors would normally pass by and it will be a unique event that fits your day and yours alone.

You can browse the classic collection below for inspiration — any experience can be customized to meet your needs.

  • These are walking tours. We’ll go as fast — or as slowly — as you like. On the way you may choose to take public transport (like a real Londoner!) or taxi. Alternatively I can help you hire a car and driver before the tour;
  • Entrances to attractions are not included. (With me you can often buy cheaper tickets and Blue Badge Guides usually enter for free);
  • Prices are in Pounds Sterling (£GBP) and are per tour (not person), payable in cash on the day;
  • The guide fee is regulated by the Association of Professional Tourist Guides and the Institute of Tourist Guiding — both of which I am a member;
  • My fee is on a sliding scale, depending on the time, day, season and availability. Afternoons and weekends offer the lowest rates;
  • We’ll begin where you decide: either at your hotel or centrally in London as best fits with your itinerary;
  • The tour will be conducted in English;
  • Tim Goddard will lead the tour apart from in the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g. illness) when — if available — the services of another suitably qualified guide will be offered.

About Tim Goddard

Tim Goddard, Blue Badge Guide

Friendly, knowledgeable, fun and flexible: the things I’ve heard most over the past 20 years’ experience helping visitors get more out of their stay in Britain. There is something especially pleasing about touring in your own hometown, sharing insights that only a life-long Londoner can bring. The former university lecturer in me particularly enjoys bringing Britain’s diverse history and culture to life.

Blue Badge Guides

The coveted Blue Badge is awarded to less than 30 people in London each year on successfully completing an 18-month course and passing all dozen exams, making it the UK’s highest guiding qualification with the Institute of Tourist Guiding, the industry’s standard-setting body and mark of quality recognised worldwide. Only we Blue Badge guides have privilege of guiding inside iconic sites such as The Tower and Westminster Abbey.

Tim on TV

Here is an excerpt of my report for ARTE-TV, documenting the lesser-known heist of the Crown Jewels at Westminster (In German).
